Cheltenham is one of the largest and most established suburbs in Melbourne’s south east, sitting within the City of Kingston and partly the City of Bayside. It is home to Westfield Southland, one of the biggest shopping centres in the country, along with Cheltenham railway station on the Frankston line and the busy Nepean Highway corridor. It is a suburb of established family homes, townhouses, and units close to schools, parks, and public transport, and when it comes time to move in or out, you need a removalist who knows the area as well as you do.
Ashville Removals has been completing moves in Cheltenham for years. Our team understands the property types found here, from older weatherboard homes and brick veneers to newer townhouse developments near the station and Southland. We plan every single move around the access requirements, parking, and local conditions specific to Cheltenham.
When you book with us, you are not getting a call centre and a stranger at your door. You are getting a locally operated crew who has worked on streets just like yours, managed the same access challenges, and delivered a stress free move for your neighbours. That local knowledge is something no interstate removal company can replicate.
Not all suburbs are equal when it comes to logistics, and Cheltenham has its own set of considerations that an experienced local removalist plans for well before moving day. Streets closer to Southland and the station can be busy and tightly parked, while pockets closer to Heatherton and Moorabbin tend to have wider blocks and easier truck access. Managing these differences requires planning that starts at the booking stage, not when the truck arrives.
Our Cheltenham team handles all pre move logistics as standard. This includes council parking dispensation applications for moving trucks on metered or restricted streets, which typically take five to seven business days, building manager notifications for apartment blocks, goods in transit bookings, and loading dock time slot reservations where needed. By the time our removalists show up on your doorstep, every access issue has already been resolved.

Whether you are moving a studio apartment across the road from Southland or relocating a large family home across Melbourne, our service is structured to handle every aspect of your move without leaving anything to chance.
Our core service covers all residential moves in Cheltenham: houses, townhouses, apartments, and units of every size. We bring a fully equipped truck matched to your inventory, so there is no need for undersized vehicles that require multiple trips, a trained crew sized to your move, and all the protective equipment required to move every item without damage to furniture, floors, walls, or doorframes.
Every removalist on our crew has been formally trained in safe furniture handling, protective wrapping techniques, efficient truck loading, and professional customer service. They are background checked and committed to treating your home and belongings with respect, because we understand that your possessions are not just objects, they are part of your life.
If you would prefer to hand over the entire moving process, our professional packing team can pack your entire home before moving day. We use double walled cartons for books and heavy items, bubble wrap and packing paper for fragile items and crockery, wardrobe cartons with internal hanging rails so your clothes arrive ready to hang, and picture frame cartons for artwork. Every box is labelled by room and content, so unpacking at the other end is as organised as the pack.
All bookings include free packing boxes as standard. If you prefer to self pack, we can supply all materials and collect any unused boxes after your move at no additional charge.
We carry specialist equipment for the items that require it. This includes professional piano dollies rated for upright and grand pianos, stair climbing hand trucks for tight staircases and split level homes, heavy duty load rated straps for safes, pool tables, and large gym equipment, and custom pneumatic dollies for oversized or unusually heavy pieces. All specialist items are covered under our standard goods in transit insurance at no additional premium. Please advise us of any specialist items at quote stage so we can allocate the right crew and equipment from the outset.
Our commercial relocation team handles office moves, retail relocations, warehouse transfers, and IT equipment moves for businesses in and around Cheltenham. We offer after hours and weekend commercial moves to minimise disruption to your business operations. Every commercial job is assigned a dedicated site supervisor, a pre move logistics plan, and a post move walkthrough to confirm every item is correctly positioned and every connection has been re established.
